Joshua Tree Adventure Guide: Short Hikes

Where to stay, what to do, on an adventure through the desert!

Cholla Cactus Garden:

So fun, definitely would recommend, especially if you’re a big cactus fan like me!  There is plenty of parking and a very short trail that takes you through a dense garden of cholla cacti.  Great spot to take pictures and fun/easy for kids.  We spent about an hour there.  It’s fun, go!

Key’s Point Overlook:

Another quick adventure that is worth the beautiful drive through the park.  Again, plenty of parking and another short trail (paved) that goes along a great overlook.  From there, you can see the Salton Sea, Mexico if it’s clear, Palm Springs, and a beautiful view of the Coachella Valley.  There are plenty of signs labeled with what you’re looking at, and the views are really great!  Good place to kids and another great picture spot.  Also took us about an hour.
