Happy Christmas Cookie Season to all who celebrate!
If you’re new here to the blog or simply stopping by (welcome!), you should know that Christmas Cookie Season is my Super Bowl – I take it very seriously and have a lot of fun with it. Every year we set the line-up and I bake my way through a week to produce 5-6 different cookies, all which will be distributed to my coworkers and friends throughout the holiday season. It’s my way of expressing my appreciation for everyone in my life each year, and it’s more fun and personal than shopping for each person (fun fact about me: I hate shopping, so instead I bake!).
A star member of the cookie line-up this year was this recipe, brought to us by the Dessert Person herself, Claire Saffitz. As a strong devotee of all things Claire Saffitz, this recipe had to be included in this year’s box. Bringing delightful buttery, nutty flavors in the form of both pistachios and almonds wrapped together in that perfectly festive green swirl, these cookies really packed a punch of cheer in my holiday box. The recipe was clear and well written, making assembly a breeze. I loved that everything came together in a food processor, and that the cookies are essentially slice and bake once the swirl is set and everything cools. I share Claire’s passion for cookies that are low fuss when it comes to additional decorating, and these cookies certainly fit the bill. Delicious, beautiful, and relatively low maintenance – these cookies are the perfect addition to your holiday collection!
I’ll share the link to the recipe featured in NYT Cooking below, so click through if you want to make them! This recipe was also featured in Claire’s book, Dessert Person, so check it out there too if you like a hard copy. There is also a YouTube video from NYT Cooking of Claire making these cookies, so if you prefer a visual guide, that link is also below! I only share full recipes on here that are my own, but always happy to provide links to my favorites. Photo up top are my cookies, links to the recipe below.
Happy baking, friends!
